Sharon J. Balsamo is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oregon State University and has been working in the field of mental health and wellness since 2007.  Sharon got her start as a field staff in Wilderness Therapy and found her passion for helping teens, young adults, and their families learn new ways to connect and deepen their sense of fulfillment and efficacy in their lives.


In addition to her work as a parent specialist at CCT, Sharon also sees individuals and families in private practice in beautiful Bend, Oregon.  She has training in attachment based therapy, psychodrama, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to provide a well-rounded and compassionate approach to personal growth and improving relationships.  Her other work experience includes residential treatment for teens in foster care, a therapeutic boarding school, transitional living for young adults, and program/retreat development and facilitation for adult women and teens.


Originally hailing from Virginia, Sharon is glad to call Oregon home.  She has traveled extensively and believes that curiosity, enthusiasm, and intention are the keys to creating a life filled with joy and gratitude.
