Our success-oriented emphasis on academics and career preparation sets Cascade Crest Transitions apart from other programs for young adults. Cascade Crest Transitions integrates a strong emphasis on both clinical treatment and academics, whereas wilderness education and residential transitional programs may not offer the same educational opportunities.

At Cascade Crest we provide students with a supportive, but honest assessment of their strengths and struggles as we empower them to take ownership of their lives. Upon enrollment in our program, students are assigned an Academic Advisor, who is a primary member of their treatment team and who will coach them toward their academic and career goals. Your student’s relationship with the Academic Advisor continues throughout their stay and participation in the Cascade Crest program.

AT CASCADE CREST TRANSITIONS

Cascade Crest Transitions offers an excellent advantage to transition program participants with the close proximity to educational opportunities at Bend’s Central Oregon Community College (COCC). COCC is located within walking distance of Cascade Crest and provides a convenient resource for students ready to take classes at the community college campus. COCC offers four terms each year making it possible for Cascade Crest students to begin taking classes within the first three months of the program.

Students have the option of taking a variety of classes, from core requirements for a specific academic track to courses of high interest. COCC also offers more than 30 vocational/technical certificate or two-year Associate of Applied Science degree programs. Whether your student is interested in culinary arts, nursing, automotive repair, aviation, emergency medical services or a number of other pursuits, COCC offers a range of degree options for students to explore.

For students entering the Cascade Crest Transitions program who have already completed the required 100 and 200 level course work for a degree, Oregon State University Cascades Campus is also available. Currently, OSU Cascades offers 24 different major options and 20 minor options. The option of registering as a non-degree seeking student allows students to gather credits to transfer to another school in the future without declaring a major.
