Jeff Wenger, M.Ed

Academic Advisor

 

Jeff has been a licensed educator since 2001 and holds a highly-qualified rating in Social Studies. His M.Ed. is in school administration with a focus on learning differences and interdisciplinary strategies. Jeff has experience teaching across the curriculum in both public and private educational settings. He also has nearly ten years experience in alternative school administration. In addition to teaching, Jeff is a rock climbing guidebook author and partners with federal agencies to protect golden eagle habitat. He has also participated in several international mountaineering expeditions as a climber and documentary filmmaker. After stints in Utah, Europe, SE Asia and Alaska, Jeff settled in Bend in the late 90’s. Here in Bend, Jeff chairs the nonprofit, Good Grief Guidance, bringing social and emotional education to community programs and local high schools. Prior to teaching Jeff worked as a ski patroler, wildland firefighter, climbing guide and commercial fisherman. He is married with two young kids, two old dogs and a huge extended family in the area.
